For each project we provide a downloadable document with details about the project, as well as some helpful resources for other conservationists working in the field.

Our Projects

Addressing the problem at its roots to stop poaching.
ANTI-POACHING

Our aim is to identify, establish and train local community members to conduct professional anti-poaching patrols throughout various conservation areas in the region. Each unit will regularly undergo refresher training courses as well as education on the value of fauna & flora in the region. Each unit will have a mix of scouts from various villages and will be constantly rotated to avoid any possible in-house poaching.

Ensuring tomorrow today.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION & UPLIFTMENT

Our aim is to get involved with the local communities in the region and educating them on the preservation of the natural resources. This includes educational game drives in the various conservation areas, teaching them the value of wildlife and the benefits of practicing cold burning to prevent large scale destruction etc. The various communities will be rewarded with a range of essential requirements when they meet their targets.

Bees are more than just honey
BEE-KEEPING

Our aim is to initially donate several bee hives to local communities in the region and educate specific women from within the community to manage, maintain and harvest the hives throughout the year. This will prevent large scale destruction of forests, as well as prevention of fires, improved agriculture yields for certain crops and generate income for the local communities. The community will also be educated in positioning the hives correctly to prevent elephants from coming into lands and raiding their crops.

Knowledge is power
CONSERVATION AGRICULTURE

Our aim is to educate the local communities in the region to prevent the shifting cultivation methods and assist them with basic agricultural practices without mechanization to improve their yields in the form of demo plots proving that the same land can be utilized for several years rather than the current slash and burn system.

Darting, collaring & monitoring.
LEOPARD MONITORING

Our aim is to collar several leopards that are naturally occurring in the region to better understand their movements within the area as well as prey species and frequency of kills? Also if they venture too close to any local communities they can be pushed back into the conservation areas before any conflicts occur. This monitoring will be handled by our own qualified in house veterinarian who will also be equipped to dart any other injured animal species that may have been caught in a snare to try and rehabilitate the animal rather than having to eliminate it.
